To help encourage an active and interested community, the project hosts art and essay competitions three times each year.  (Click here to see more art and some writing submissions.)  Contest themes repeat yearly, so that entries can also serve as an evaluation for the educational progress being made.  A yearly tree growing competition boosts interest in Sesbania, and has helped raise the number of people growing firewood at home.
